So… I just stumbled upon this fantastic video of Mo Rocca, who is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and a regular contributor to CBS’ Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, talking about handmade goods and ETSY.
You must watch this….
This Saturday (4.18), the shop will be closed. We have a booth at The Florida Earth Day Jam out at the Bradfordville Blues Club (7152 Moses Lane in Tallahassee, Florida). The festivities start at noon, so gather your family and friends and head out for a fun day in the sun. There will be twelve bands on four stages, also, dozens of nonprofit organizations, green businesses and local government programs promoting conservation, sustainability and “green” living. The exhibition will also include artists, craftsmen, fair trade distributors and food and drink vendors.
Don’t miss out on this exciting event….. http://www.earthdayjam.org/
We have some new Governors Daughter necklaces in at Textures. I am in love with every single one of them! I wish that I could own them all. If you see one you are interested in, email me (textureshandmade@gmail.com), and we can get one out to you. They are all so vibrant and spring-like and make me think of sipping lemonade. Quite refreshing to look at, if I do say so myself.
The Riverside Arts Market was a HUGE success!! Over 40,000 people showed up for the inaugural market. Being that I am from Jacksonville, I got to see lots of old friends, which was really fun. The Textures booth went over well. People really liked everything we had to offer, and we were busy the whole day. We will be back on April 25th. If you know anyone in Jacksonville, send them our way!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we are not going to be at The Tallahassee Festival of Books today like we were supposed to be. We had a minor change of plans.
I am going to be at the Riverside Arts Market this Saturday!!! If you are in Jacksonville, stop by and say hello. It seems like this is going to a really fantastic ongoing event. Just think… Lots of art, local produce, great music, all under the canopy of the Fuller Warren Bridge!
I am bringing my own work along with work made by several other Textures artists. We have lots of amazing stuff, you aren’t going to want to miss this! I wont be back to the market until April 25th.
I have included a map of the Market with my booth circled. We are booth #502.
