Textures Handmade Market

We have some really BIG, exciting news…. Textures Handmade Market is moving to Midtown in Tallahassee. We loved every moment of the time we spent in the All Saints District and are sad to leave all of our friends and neighbors, however, we are super excited for this big move. The opportunity came a knockin’ and we couldn’t resist!! We will soon be located at 1123 Thomasville Road along with Lucy and Leo’s Cupcakery, who sell the most fantastic cupcakes you’ve ever tasted!! My personal favorite is the Red Velvet Cupcake, although I haven’t tasted a bad one yet.

Our plan is to be in the new shop by the beginning of July, so keep an eye out for updates and sales along the way. You can follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and if you aren’t already, you should get on our e-mail list. There will be a lot of good information coming your way.

Over the past year and a half, we have had many people interested in taking classes such as sewing, book making, collage, etc. In the new space we are finally going to be able to make that possible!!! We are super pumped about this opportunity. We want to share our knowledge with you and promote creativity all at the same time. So, pull out your crafty pants and get excited about making things with your hands… The Craft Revival is coming your way!! We will have information and a calendar of workshops coming soon!!

Pyramid Studios is a completely arts-based adult day training non-profit facility and community art gallery serving over one hundred adults with disabilities. They help these adults with developmental disabilities to see themselves as artists or performers… earning commissions and fees… gaining self-esteem and self confidence… participating richly in the life of their communities. Families brimming with pride… the community seeing beyond their disabilities to appreciate their abilities.

At Textures, we sell cards and journals made by these amazing people. All of the money from the sale of these products go back to Pyramid to help fund their program.

Tonight is First Friday here in Tallahassee. If you are in town, I hope that I will see you out soaking up all the amazing art that Tallahassee has to offer. We will be open today from 11am- 10pm… Stop by and say hello. Mothers Day is just around the corner, so you aren’t going to want to miss out on all of the amazing hand-crafted items that we have to offer. Your momma will be so excited!!
